Hello!

‘People come into counselling for a variety of reasons. I know it can be a time of uncertainty. It is important you find the right therapist. I aim to be a counsellor that makes you feel heard and puts you at ease to help you move forward in a way which feels right for you’

Julie Kelly

How I help

I regularly work with a wide range of presenting issues including low self-esteem/confidence, anxiety/stress, depression and anger. I understand it sometimes can be difficult to open up and talk about these subjects. I believe in the importance of the client/therapist relationship which is significant to the therapeutic process. Working integrative allows me to help you develop better coping strategies using techniques and interventions from other therapeutic models that may help you build confidence and emotional resilience

Therapies Offered

Counselling

Person-centred Counselling focuses on self-development and personal growth. The counsellor provides a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This can create a better understanding of yourself to make effective changes in your life

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy is a future-oriented, goal-directed approach. It places focus on a person’s present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal-oriented therapy, it promotes positive change rather than dwelling on the past. The counsellor will encourage you to focus positively on what you do well, set goals and work out how to achieve them

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT) helps you change the way you think and what you do. The way we think about situations affects the way we feel and behave. We may experience negative emotions and feelings which lead us to behave in an unhelpful way. Your therapist will help you identify and challenge any negative thinking so you can deal with situations better and behave in a more positive way. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be helpful for depression, anxiety, stress, phobias, obsessions, fears and addictions

Integrative Counselling

Integrative Counselling looks at the whole person, taking into account your mental, physical and emotional needs. Your therapist will use techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you. An integrative counsellor aims to build a trusting and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship that helps you develop self-awareness. When you understand the causes of your concerns or triggers for your behaviour, you can confidently set goals and develop new behaviours to improve your life
